| Sun 31st August '08 - Hope Celebration | In the Market Square Niottingham, there will be a Hope Celebration where the preacher will be Rt. Rev. Tony Porter (Bishop of Sherwood). Worship will be led by TRENT. Worship starts at 10:30am for 11am service. At 12:30pm there will be the Hope Festival of Arts, Music and Faith featuring The Flame, Trent, Freddie Kofi and BritGos tm.

| Tue 9th September '08 - Fiona Castle to visit Melbourne Festival | Churches Together in Melbourne have arranged for Fiona Castle to come as part of the Melbourne Festival on Tuesday 9th September 2008 at Melbourne Leisure Centre. There is no entry charge, but there will be a voluntary retiring donation for local charity.
Events: 2.30pm with tea and cakes, 7.30pm with cheese and biscuits and a bar.

| Fri 3rd October '08 to Sat 4th October '08 - Global Leadership Summit | The Global Leadership Summit is coming to the Midlands on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 October 2008. This is the 4th year that Rising Brook Baptist Church in Stafford have hosted this inspirational event for leaders.
Each year leaders take time out from their busy schedule to benefit from world-class speakers from church and business. Each year leaders and leadership teams return home with renewed vision, inspiration, strategies and practical ideas for their ministry and work.
8 speakers from the Summit held in Chicago are selected for videocasting around the world – to countries on every continent and over 15 venues in the UK (see below for this year’s speakers – previous years have included UK speakers: Bono in 2006, Richard Curtis in 2007). | Sat 22nd November '08 - Yfriday Youth Concert | yfriday, (if you haven’t heard of them, they are one of the leading Christian worship and ministry bands today!) have agreed to present a Worship Evening at Hill St Baptist Church in Swadlincote on Saturday 22nd November. Local churches do believe that this is a major opportunity for outreach, most particularly to young people, though yfriday have a wide following! For more information, please see their website: www.yfriday.co.uk A number of the churches from the Covenanting group of Churches Together in Swadlincote and Gresley have agreed to treat this as a co-operative venture and will be underwriting the cost of the concert so that they do not need to price the tickets too high and put off young people from attending.

| Sun 26th April '09 - The Two Counties’ Service, 2009 | | We are planning next year’s service for Sunday April 26th 2009 at the usual time of 6.30pm. With Derbyshire taking the responsibility this time, we shall be visiting Chesterfield’s central Methodist Church. The President of the Methodist Conference will be visiting the Sheffield District and we have the privilege of joining two events together here. We hope that our preacher will be the President of Conference on this occasion. |
